About This Little Fox Keychain

A tiny, pocket-sized fox keychain with pointy ears and a friendly face — a quick, giftable make.

This little fox is worked as one small ball with attached ears and an embroidered face, finished with a keyring so it can ride along on your bag or keys.

It's the ideal scrap-buster and a brilliant introduction to amigurumi in under an hour.

Why You'll Love This Little Fox Keychain

I love how fast and joyful this one is — it uses tiny amounts of yarn and makes the sweetest little gift or party favour.

Switch Things Up

Swap the orange for grey to make a wolf or pink to make a piglet — the shaping stays the same.

Add a tiny crocheted scarf or a felt heart for a seasonal twist.

Common Mistakes & How to Fix Them

Leaving the stuffing visible through loose stitches; work tightly so the fox keeps its shape. Attaching the ears too far apart makes the fox look surprised; pin them close to the top first. Embroidering the face before stuffing makes placement tricky; stuff and close first, then add the face. Skipping the keyring loop means it can't clip on; sew the split ring on securely with several passes.

Maker's Notes

When I made this I finished it in well under an hour from scraps. The only fiddly part is the tiny ears — use a stitch marker and count, and pin them before sewing.

I tried a substitution: I made a worsted version on a 4 mm hook for chunkier hands and it came out a cute 8 cm — easier to stuff, too.
