About This Boho Diamond Plant Hanger

A breezy macrame-style plant hanger crocheted in an open diamond mesh — instant boho charm for any corner.

This plant hanger is crocheted as a flat circular base, then open chain loops form the diamond mesh that cradles your pot, finished with a sturdy hanging loop.

It's a fast, forgiving make that looks far more complex than it is — pure boho charm.

Why You'll Love This Boho Diamond Plant Hanger

I love how this hanger turns any plain pot into a statement piece, and how quickly the airy diamond mesh works up from simple chains.

Switch Things Up

Use natural cotton or jute for an earthy look, or a bright colour to make your greenery pop.

Make the chain loops longer for a taller, more dramatic drop, or add wooden beads for extra boho texture.

Common Mistakes & How to Fix Them

Making the base too small means the pot slips through; match the base diameter to your pot's bottom. Chaining the loops at uneven lengths makes the hanger sit crooked; count each chain loop carefully. Using a slippery acrylic can let the pot slide; cotton grips better and holds its shape. A weak hanging loop can fail under weight; reinforce it with several rounds of single crochet.

Maker's Notes

When I made this I used a natural cotton and it held a small terracotta pot beautifully. Keep all the chain loops the exact same length — I counted out loud — so it hangs nice and level.

I tried a substitution: I tried a chunkier cotton on a 5 mm hook for a bigger pot and it worked a treat; just add a couple more base rounds.

  3. Gather all loops at the top and work a sturdy reinforced hanging loop.
  4. Thread on optional wooden beads before closing the top loop.

Important Notes

  • Use cotton for grip and structure.
